This is a must own UHD Blu-Ray release, with the important caveat that it was shot on film with a grainy film stock to give it an intentional “gritty” feel. That grain was scrubbed in part from DVD and Blu-Ray releases because it created digital noise during compression. On a UHD Blu Ray there is enough room and the picture has enough resolution to properly capture the film grain as grain not noise. The results are spectacular but do not go into this expecting a pristine “clean” film shot on digital - the grainy look is how the movie is meant to look and if you have a big enough screen you will appreciate it (I watched it on a 100” projection screen and it was that good that I will never watch my old Blu Ray again). Add to that the new sound mix which is truly astounding and even if you don’t like the grain you will have your new demo disc to show off all those Atmos speakers you paid for.
