OMG!!! Hello Decker!!! Even though Decker was seen in Hunter, he really comes to life in his own book. I thought Hunter was amazing, but Decker is just simply brilliant. Decker is a standalone, however Hunter does provide some background to characters involved.
Decker had it all; suspense, darkness, lies, secrets, betrayal, sexual tension, grit, and it had me completely spellbound from beginning to end. Eden Summers has absolutely excelled with this one - it was pure magic and totally unputdownable.
Absolutely loved Decker and Keira. He was funny, strong, brooding and fiercely protective. He's also and employee of the Torian crime family, who has been assigned protection duties over Keira. Problem being, he no longer just wants to protect her ... can he keep his hands and body from where they long to be? Keira is the sister of Decker's boss, a beauty to behold and a woman who is an innocent by-stander in all her family's dealings.Or is she?
The chemistry between the two was simply electric, but neither of them were willing to give into it, even though it was the one thing they both desired. Their relationship was loaded constantly with wise-cracking jokes and constant digs at each other. The main problems between them were the lies, how could they learn to trust when there were so many secrets and lies?
A heart stopper of a story that had my heart pounding heavily and my intrigue level at an all time high. Even though the storyline is a dark one, there were plenty of lighthearted moments that had me smiling constantly.
Another exceptional story from Eden. I wait with much anticipation for her next book, as the subject is going to be Cole Torian. Now that one is definitely going to be intriguing.
What can you say when you have read a story that could very nearly top the list of best reads for the year? You could probably wax lyrically on the brilliance of the characterisation, the gritty storyline, the touching emotion, the sizzling hot passion, the page turning intrigue! But you know what...read Decker yourself and come back to me and lets compare notes. I am not going to spoil this one for you in ANY way. This book carries on seemlessly from the author's previous novel Hunter, and while you don't necessarily need to have read that story to follow the goings on, once you've read Decker, you will want to grab Hunter for your Kindle because this series is turning out to be such an entertaining experience. The author is showing her muscle with these latest releases. For me, these are her best to date. Eden Summers has delivered a humdinger of a story with this one, it was just so damn good. 5 huge stars!!!
I have been waiting for Decker since I read Hunter, and I have not been disappointed. This romantic suspense story has had me on the edge of my seat (well, couch) for the entire read.
Decker and Keira's story was dark and full of secrets and lies - yet through it all they find each other, they are the order to each other's chaos.
At times I didn't know who I could trust, who I should like, who I should shank (yes, it did bring out some violent tendencies at times). What I did know was that I needed to turn the next page to find out what was happening.
And then just when I thought I could take a breath, Ms Summers had it ending in a way that had me screaming what the heck!
I need the next book. Now. I don't want to wait. Please don't keep me waiting too long.
Eden Summer is a new author to me... and I am hooked! ‘Decker’ was so much more than a book... it was an experience...
The plot is a surprise, even though parts were predictable the action and emotion were off the charts. This story begins amid a pool of blood and violence and quickly throws you into the action and passion. Sebastian Decker is drawn into the Torian mafia family against his better judgement and almost entirely by his heart the moment he lays eyes on Keira Torian.
‘Decker’ is a unique yet terrifying guy. He is charming, funny, and dangerous (Or at least this is what his boss believes). Still, he trusts him with his little sister, when a shooting threatens the safety of the entire Torian family. Keira has been a beautiful sight for Decker, but off limits, precisely because of who her brother is, but her innocence is never believed... So both don’t trust each other, but feel this intense pull.
The pace of this story is break-neck fast with more twists and turns than expected, there are scenes I would have never seen coming and there are pages that kept me on the edge of my seat. This is essentially a standalone and a 5 star read.
Ms Summers has proven to me that waiting for her books to come out are always worth it. I’ve read lots of amazing and awesome books this year and this book is no exception. I picked this book up and didn’t want to put it down from the time I started to the time I finished. It had me sitting in the edge of the couch trying to read as quick as I could to find out what was going to happen next. Decker and Keira live in a world of chaos and lies but through each other they find order. The story is fast paced with lots of action and twists and turns no-one could see coming. I can say that I absolutely loved this book. And that I’m looking forward to more of Ms Summers books.
First of all, I had several "I was not expecting THAT" moments. I LOVE those. Eden certainly threw me some curve balls and it made this book SO exciting, wondering what else I didn't know.
Nextly, this is a romantic suspense in every sense. For as on-the-edge-of-your-seat it is, it's as equally holy-smokes-these-two-have-sizzling-chemistry.
But the best part of all (aside from the flawless storytelling) was the descriptions of everything. I had no trouble seeing in my imagination everything Eden wanted me to. Yes, it was very graphic at times, but it was so brilliantly done!
Though each book has featured a different couple, the underlying story in Decker built off of the story introduced in Hunter. While I don't think it's absolutely necessary to have read Hunter first, you will want to read Hunter. It's just that good :)
I am DYING for the next book, and I think I just might go back and re-read the previous one. I LOVE this series!!!
This book is everything! I've read all of Eden Summers' books, from her early works down to her new releases so I can honestly say that this is, hands down, her finest work yet.
Everything is perfection. The characters, the storyline, the drama, the sex, the feels... all of it. It was amazing!
Decker is such a wonderfully complex character. Just when you think you've got him all figured out a turn of the page will have you asking 'who the hell is this guy?!' His chemistry with Keira is off the charts and the situations they find themselves in can be equally sizzling and heartbreaking. The road to their HEA is rocky but worth the angst in the end. That ending though... I need more NOW!
If it were possible to give a book 6 stars, Eden would have them. Alas, we will have to settle for 5. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting an edge of your dear page turner with awesome characters and a storyline that will have you screaming for more.
This book is a heady mix of edge of your seat suspense, love and hate, secrets and betrayal that you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!!
This story begins amid a pool of blood and violence and quickly throws you into the action and passion. Sebastian Decker is drawn into the Torian mafia family against his better judgement and almost entirely by his heart the moment he lays eyes on Keira Torian. He wants to save her, but it's not yet evident if she wants or indeed needs to be saved.
The pace of this story is break-neck fast with more twists and turns than a theme park thrill ride you won't want to put this book down.
Eden Summers writes deeply complex, flawed irresistible characters and Decker and Keira are no exception. He is a delicious combination of sarcasm, passionate lover and imminent violence and the perfect match for the headstrong, sometimes fragile, mafia beauty, and their dual deceit and secrets threaten to bring down not only themselves but everyone around them.
This is essentially a standalone but with references and characters from her previous 5 star hit "Hunter", you would do well to read it first, but either way this is another stellar 5 star read!
I’ve given one less star due to the silly pet names, err ‘lemon drop’? Or similar lines. But holy hell, what did I just read? This had so many twists and turns who knew what to expect!?! Read as dual point of view, Decker is such a character that the chosen cover pic does not do him justice. Looking forward to read other works from author, I hope they fare just as well.
