So Many Feels
14 December 2018
Wow. Luna and The Lie was everything I was hoping it would be. It gave me SO many feelings, I had my tissues on standby, and I may have used them a couple of times!
Luna Allen has had a tough upbringing. A hard life growing up has taught her to try and take joy out of the smaller things in life. To be happy. To smile and keep moving forward even during the moments where she may not want to. Luna is also tougher than she appears, I loved the moments during the story where she showed that side of herself. She loves her sisters hard and will do anything for them, even though at times not all of her sisters appear to deserve that unwavering loyalty.
Ripley. Rip. Mr Ripley. I couldn't help but love him the further I read into the story. Rip is a big, imposing, Cranky *with a capital C* man. Oh so cranky. The first time he said "baby girl" I swooned as it was so unexpected. He is not great at times (most of the time!) when it comes to communicating or expressing himself, both as Luna's Bossman or her friend. But when he does get it right, it is so sweet.
Of course Luna and The Lie was a slow burn romance. The anticipation and the wait of it all to come together is so enjoyable. I've spent hours today reading this book - I'm tired, hungry, my Ipad's just about to go flat. It was awesome - I just want to go back and reread over all my favourite parts.
