I found the Roma King to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma and I loved every second of it, turning the pages quickly trying to figure out what was going on. I didn't intend to finish it in one sitting but once I started I couldn't stop.
So many unanswered questions. I found myself analysing what I had read once I finished it, searching for clues.
It was a fresh, new and exciting theme for me and I loved the mystical, otherworldly element and when Pasha and Zara finally come together, it was a melding of two halves. It was destiny, fate and the connection and realisation of love that spans life and incarnations.
I did not see the cliff hanger reveal coming and I eagerly anticipate the conclusion.
Roma King by Callie Hart is the first book in her brand new Roma Royals duet. Told in dual POV this series is a window into the life of the Roma. A people that can often be mistakenly referred to as travelers or gypsies they have similarities. This story of Pasha, the uncrowned Roma king, and of Zara, his soul mate but also an outsider, is one of darkness and deceit. A story of finding ones other half while embroiled in a tangled web of murder, kidnapping, and ghosts from the past.
Pasha was banished for three years from his family and he has flourished in the outside world in that time. With nothing but distaste for his mother and her rules he also has no desire to go back. But when the dreams of his Firefly persist he can't help but get sucked back into his destiny.
Fiery redhead Zara has been living a half life and not even realizing it. As an emergency dispatcher she receives a troubling call from a young boy whose brother is dead. A haunting call that stays with her - especially after she finds out that he is missing. Following the clues left for her she ends up crossing paths with an alpha male that takes her breath away. But the man in her dreams cannot be real - these things don't just happen.
The deeper Zara dives into looking for Corey the closer she is pulled towards Pasha until their worlds collide entirely leaving them with no choice but to fulfill their fates.
Ending on a cliffhanger the next book should be out sometime in February. Well-paced, well-written with strong characters and a well-built world. Callie Hart is a must-read author for me and this is another spectacular example of why that is so. Enjoy!
Once you start this one by Callie you won't be able to put it down. Sarah is a 911 operator and one night she gets a call from a small boy whose brother is not moving. She keeps him on the line until the paramedics turn up then she terminates the call. Left wondering what the story was were their parents away and were they trying to fend for themselves. Since she works very late nights Sarah sleeps from the early morning hours and one night the persistent ringing of the public phone box in the street outside her window keeps waking her up annoying her. Pasha is a Roma Gypsy King a role he doesn't want nor need complicating his life. He's been estranged from his family especially his mother for a while and has as little to do with them as possible. One night he crosses paths with Sarah by accident and knows she is the one he has been dreaming about who is his for eternity. His soulmate destined to be his who he has been searching for. I received a copy *thank you) to do an honest review for Naughty Nightie Book Blog. This book has everything love, lust. mystery and intrigue expect to feel a book hangover coming on with this story. Be warned it does end on a slight cliffhanger. I can't wait to read book two to see who is behind everything going on and where Pasha and Sarah end up.
I’m still stuck in cloud nine after finishing Roma King. Brimming with intrigue, suspense and surprise turns, I devoured this read within twelve hours as everything about it is perfect! Zara and Pasha’s unique relationship, bound together by an intricate series of events, pulled me in—they made me fall in love with it. Every step of the way.
Callie Hart writes bad boy anti-heroes that will have you down on your knees begging and wanting more of them. They’re always damaged, oftentimes rebellious and dripping in tantalising naughtiness with a hint of buried sweetness that only the women they obsess over discover. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Zeth Mayfair, Pasha will capture your heart in similar fashion.
"I want to consume her. There's a part of me that wants to destroy her, if only so no one will ever be able to look at her."
Pasha Rivin is an anti-hero that will capture your attention straight away. He’s the epitome of tall, dark and handsome while simultaneously screaming titillating sin and veiled danger. He isn’t just wicked, full of cockiness and intimidation, and brandishing a filthy mouth that’ll leave your cheeks burning.
Pasha’s an enigma that you’ll want to learn more about. Destined to become a Roma king, a path paved with greatness, he craves freedom—to be free of responsibilities and superstitions and manipulative clan members. And the more you pry open, the more entranced and obsessed you’ll become with Roma’s upcoming king.
"I've done everything in my power to banish him from my thoughts, but there's something about the man standing before me that won't be quelled."
Despite leading an independent simple life, Zara Llewelyn is an intriguing and compelling heroine. She’s filled with so much empathy and compassion, you can’t help but find her wonderfully endearing. I admire the strength and determination and ferocity she exudes—especially when confronted with unexpected situations that transform her humble routine into something more complicated.
Sometimes a glimpse of vulnerability will surface, making Zara a more real and relatable character. She isn't easily intimidated though—her own sassiness and fierceness comes through when coming head-to-head with Pasha in verbal sparring.
"I take it back," he rumbles. "You're no nightmare, Zara Llewelyn. You're every single beautiful I've ever had. And I don't plan on letting you go now."
When Zara and Pasha are together, your panties will melt and your heart will pound—they're scorching and burning with intense chemistry and sexual tension. Roma King is teeming with suspense and premonitions, your jaw will drop in surprise. You'll almost forget that this feels like a slow burn, forbidden romance between a Roma and gadje.
While there's a suggestion that implies they know each other through predestined dreams—feeling almost paranormal—there's no instant-love here, but rather instant-attraction. It doesn't come across as unrealistic; instead it is an interesting example of Roma culture's fascinating world.
Roma King is unique, a riveting story where the author weaves detailed segments into a captivating storyline filled with deep-rooted traditions and superstitions of an intriguing culture. If you've read, loved and obsessed over Callie Hart's other series, I guarantee you'll want to acquaint yourself with Pasha Rivin. Get ready—you'll lose your panties, heart and mind to this Roma king dripping in sinful naughtiness and wicked cockiness.
Thank you, Callie, for writing from your heart a truly creative masterpiece, born of inspiration. What a fantastic read! I had to finish the book once I started - too gripping to put down. The story is intriguing & the pace is perfect (un-rushed). The plot is original and the characters have depth. A wonderful puzzle with pieces in motion that I look forward to seeing put together in book two. Highly recommended :)
Pasha and Zara's Characters are full of fire, sex, passion, and fight although I feel they lack a little more depth then Callie usually gives her leads. I'm hoping this depth will be introduced in book 2.. The storyline is strong and has a great plot twist and will keep you enthralled until the end. But personally, I felt as though the story after its initial dramatic start fizzled but as it gains its momentum again whoah watch out cause you will find yourself lost in Pasha's and Zara's wildest wet dreams.. overall this is definitely not pg read and i love the angle Callie has taken with travelers aka Gypsies.. I'm excited to see how book 2 fills in the gaps and ends this lusty story.
