These are CAT 7 cables of good quality & comparable prices to CAT 6 cables. Most cables in use are currently CAT 6 which are used to minimise losses and are utilised as patch cables particularly after the NBN is activated. Most older systems are connected with the older (slower) CAT 5E. Great value , gold plated connectors and warranted , you can't go wrong.
The cable arrived in nicely labelled, easy-open bag. However, inside that, the cable was tightly wrapped with copious quantities of plastic wrap. It took a stanley knife and about 3 minutes to cut away all the plastic, to access the cable. So I wasn't impressed with the packaging.
The cable is attactive, and odd in its flatness. You'd think the flatness might somehow help prevents cable kinks. Sadly, not the case. If anything, it kinks more easily than a round cable. So bare that in mind. Overall, the cable is sturdy and made well. Signal wise, the cable works flawlessly.
I have not run any kind of performance tests, but there are certainly no transmission problems with this cable on my current Gigabit network. What I really liked about the cable it how the colour blends in much better to the room and how easy it is to run, because the cable is braided nylon, which makes it much less prone to twisting. So much easier to manipulate and lay out exactly how I want it!
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Better than expectations. Product description was a little difficult with ALL cable lengths in the description. Could have used one description with a drop down box length and quantity for each length of cable and colours. I liked the choice of colours as I could use the colour match to distinguish each cable run and device that they were attached to. PRODUCT PERFORMANCE: Excellent. This was a quick solution for upgrading an aging ethernet network of Cat5e & dubious Cat 6 cables. I was also able to extend network by running cables under carpeting (best trick was to lay them parallel to carpet 'smooth-edge' (wooden platten with tacks to hold stretched carpet to wall and floor edge). I haven't yet achieved full GB speeds to my aging Billion routers, switches and devices (except one) which all have GB ethernet ports. The routers and switches will be progressively replaced over time, so the cable is ready and future proofed for this. The cables are durable and flexible and hopefully will live up to description provided. The products appear to be very well manufactured and no flaws were apparent on any of the cables ordered. PACKAGING: A reasonable description and HAS BEEN proof-read for 'Chinglish' irregularities. The only major flaw is with the labels on the packaging indicating cable length. They SHOULD be a larger font to make them easier to read and also be placed on BOTH sides of the packing rather than the existing small label placed on the rear of the packet. The packaging of the cables was excellent, and possibly the best if my past experience is anything to measure against. Each cable was tried on neatly with 3 ties and placed in a zip-lock seal packet which can be reused when cables are kept as spares for future use (I added my own larger and clear labels for lengths etc). ORDER DESPATCH & DELIVERY: I ordered several cables and of varying lengths and colours. The order was literally processed and confirmed very shortly after purchase and were delivered in two days to regional New South Wales. This was followed up with an email from Amazon initiated by the Seller, Dan Yee regarding the satisfaction of my order. A very professional and outstanding level of customer service from this Amazon MarketPlace Seller!
Attractive cable that appears well made & works well. I bought three, each of a different colour which makes identification a breeze. The only minor issue I had was that the plugs are longer than those of the cables I had previously been using which was only an issue in the case of my wall-mounted smart TV where there was not enough space to plug in the cable without the cable being bent at a fairly severe angle.
I know, ethernet cables are hardly something most people get excited about, but this one is excellent. The flat cable can be shaped, so you can run it straight along the edge of the room without it curling, and bend them at the corners. The nylon casing is sturdy and the insulated wires mean no interference. If you're looking for some new Cat 7 cables, I can certainly recommend you getting this.
I'm using the flat Ethernet cable under a rug in my lounge room to connect my home entertainment switch to the rest of my home network. Far less visible than typical round Ethernet cables. Only using it for 1G uplink but working perfectly. The RJ45 connectors seem solid and so far no clips have broken and the connectors don't get jammed when removing from switch ports. Recommended.
