A lot of research and imagination make this book worth reading and educational even, but clumsy dialogue and a main character who was too simple to be as smart as she claimed (and had) to be. Telling not showing. Also a weird POV device where she was writing it to her children didn’t really work. Also a bit goodguys/badguys with neither side really believable, and an unlikely romance thrown in for the chick lit thrills. It was spy lite - no Le Carre by a long stretch.
