Three enigmatic vampires on the hunt for what stalks the city. A girl who stumbles into the path of despair unknowingly, but is willing to fight. What more could one want? A great read by Sadie Moss that really captures your interest with a unique storyline.
Four main characters help keep the story confined, but we still have defined character personalities. Willow is a girl with a strong spine who sees the difference between what she once knew to what she knows now, but is always on the lookout for new information and is willing to learn. Sol, a blind vampire, has extra heightened senses and and is able to see more than just a face but rather a persons aura. Jerrett is our fun and excitable "puppy-esque" vampire, with the rock god looks. Then there is Malcolm, the strong and silent type, who is still hiding parts of his past and keeping secrets from Willow.
I'm really excited to see where we go as Willow begins to be immersed in this new supernatural world she once never knew existed. Also looking forward to uncovering some of the secrets of their past, and the lives our three vampires once lived.

Pretty good vampire story. The plot wasn’t boring and was a little different to others that I’ve read. It did have that cliche “but I’m an ordinary human what do they want with me” moment but otherwise pretty good. She didn’t adapt super fast, or super slow. Which was great. Sometimes reading vampire books and the character adapts within a day, or doesn’t adapt, can be super frustrating for myself as a reader. I get that they’re not realistic but I would like it to be a bit realistic and that’s one thing that always annoys me. Willow is likeable also. She’s not annoying, whiny, gunhoe. She thinks and acts. She accepts help and doesn’t have a break down because she wasn’t allowed to do something or because she was held back for safety etc. Jerret, Malcolm, and Sol are all pretty cool also. Each character different but still with the core fundamentals to make them good guys.
Overall I liked this story and will continue on with the next book 😊
I read the Magic Awakened series by Sadie Moss and really enjoyed it so thought I would try this one and it didn’t let me down. Really well written with good storyline that was a bit different which I liked. Willow grew from being a bit unsure and trying to find her feet into a strong, fiesty but caring and compassionate heroine. Whilst there was obviously some strong attraction to Malcolm, Jerrett and Sol, I liked that it wasn’t instalove but a real relationship that grew over time. A good completed series. Worth a read.
