Another great book in Shelby’s adventures. This is a novella so about half the size of the main books in the series. As this was published after Book 11, I would read this book at 11.5. As usual, a great cast of characters and well written. I would have liked to read more, but unfortunately only a novella, so I will have to wait until Book 12 Marked for Murder comes out late April / late May.
I mentioned in my review of Deadly Escape (Book 11) that I would like to see a story with an animal (dog) and see if she could read the animals mind. In this book we have Pepper and Shelby could understand a few thoughts and feelings. By the end of the book, Shelby promised her daughter that they would get a dog. It would be great if they could get a (retired) police dog and would love to see a german shepherd. She might be able to read more from this type of trained dog. It could also occasionally help/protect her in her investigations/work. It would be cool if the dog understood that she understood it and share in her secret. However, Pepper was a smaller dog, so the author may go for a smaller dog again….
What an awesome short Shelby can find just as much trouble in a short story as she can in a full-length novel lol I really enjoyed it. A great story, awesome characters and Shelby at her mind reading best.
