There are a lot of good English police procedurals out there, but few as intriguing as this one Chief Inspector Crow is a bit of a maverick when police protocol is concerned, doesn't like it when the system gets in the way of his investigations. Is he right? You've gotta read it to find out.
This book continues the story of DCI Crow in a time before mobile phones, DNA and internet. The language used mirrors that of the time in which the story is based and gives a sense of another time and place.
There is a large switch in the story that provides for an interesting conclusion. Worth reading.
