There was a lot to like about this book. It is written as a splintered narrative, although strictly based on facts and interviews. Where there is conjecture it is stated. A lot of the book is about the conjecture surrounding what happened at Columbine. The author discusses what happens, when it happens and how stories/ myths formed, followed by the truth. There were a lot of stories and myths surrounding what happened that day. The author tries to seriously delve in 'why' this event occurred. He paints a great picture of who the assailants, victims and other parties involved were, their reactions and how their lives have changed as time has passed and other shootings have occurred. In the epilogue the author finally provides some of his own opinions as to what 'why' the shootings may be recurring.
The horrific shooting that shocked the world that we seem to have forgotten. Dave Cullen is an excellent writer and I've purchased Parkland to read and can't wait for his other book to come out this year. Dave Cullen is a writer I will always read as his work is amazing.
