After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to be able to read Lore's story, as he was a character I really enjoyed in book 1. This story didn't disappoint, it was fun and engaging, with characters who were all so different. I loved Brinley who was determined to live her life the way she wanted to, though some of her reasons for doing so were due to total lack of support from her parents, especially her mother who was an extremely unlikeable person and had spent Brinley's entire life telling her she was ugly, fat and useless. I really enjoyed the way that Lore and Brinley's interactions changed into something much more throughout the story, leaving them both wanting things they never before had desired. I look forward to the next book in this series.
This is the second book in the series, although it can be read on its own, just adds more meaning if you have read the first one. It has a happy ending although I wasn’t sure that would happen along the way. Pleased to see the lead character was not the typical young girl with a perfect body and hair that is never out of place. I’m glad I don’t live in that time, women were so suppressed. Look forward to reading the next in the series, still another brother and sister to find true love.
This book walked me through my emotions from hating her family to wanting to yell at Brinley. I was amazed how the characters complemented the story line and gave me insight in to the males mind. Lore that is how I think of him now became my hero and I was backing him all the way. I think all reader can relate to Brindley wanting to please the family and have their approval. But when she learnt it would never be well your just going to have to read the book. Will definitely be reading this book again its in my favourites.
