There are a plethora of witchy cozy murder mysteries out there and many of them fail for me because I find the "humour" is too strained (the heroine is meant to be an adorable klutz, usually) or the heroine too much a special snowflake (and there's a snarky unpleasant tone as she demonstrates her superiority to absolutely everyone). I found "Magical Murder" by Ann Denton a refreshing change - she has humour and a klutzy, special snowflake heroine, but makes it work! There's balance there with the heroine wryly aware that life isn't always what you want. Add in solid world building with imaginative details and great characters, and this is an enjoyable paranormal cozy mystery with a zing of romance.
I often find myself scouring Amazon for hours looking for the next great fantasy story. The Lyon fox mysteries definitely fit the bill. Great chracters and a story that keeps you interested all the way through. I spent my "cleaning weekened" reading the first 3 books in the series. …#noregrets#givememore
