Just a terrific piece of story-telling. Loved both the main characters - Nat and her understandable La-La Land insecurities and Nick with his “ go for it” attitude. For lovers of the hot Rock Star genre of romcom stories - “Chase” will become one of your favs.
I just love how Laurelin Paige makes the pages sizzle!
Nick Ryder and Natalia Lowen’s story is steamy, sexy and totally hot. The rockstar and the Hollywood Princess, two complete opposites in everyday life with work and pleasure but the chemistry between them is undeniable and all consuming. It was meant to be no strings and no feelings, just a good time between the sheets. When the strings and feelings become a reality will The Rockstar win the heart of the People’s Princess or will fear and image put an end to everything? I guess your just going to have to read it to find out.
Another fun and flirty read that will have you all hot and bothered with every turn of the page. All the sexiness we want and enjoy in Laurelin’s books is there with a great storyline that leaves you breathless and a hot mess.
Definitely my favourite read from this author. Absolutely loved this fresh take on the rock star story. Dirty talking, younger rock star with the sweet as pie, with a hidden dirty side older actress. Sign me up. The dialogue/banter was some of the best I have read this year and I smiled the whole time I was reading. As for the chemistry/sex scenes - well they were hot enough to melt your kindle. Add in just the right amount of emotions and you've got one of my Top Reads of 2018. Definitely recommend!
This was an interesting book for me, because while I didn't mind the characters too much, I also don't know if I entirely connected with them either. I preferred Nick over Natalia, and I think that's because whilst I could understand her worry, it was a bit too at the forefront and too often for me.
Taking all that aside though, this was a really sweet story between these two, and Nick was damned adorable. I loved the detail and depth of this actions and emotions, and he was definitely a mature character for his age.
I liked that Natalia had a strong friendship with her two besties, and I like that eventually, she comes into herself, and becomes more of her own person.
I look forward to continuing this series, and seeing where it takes us with these guys
What I LOVED about CLOSE is the way the author unfolded their relationship in a lot of dialogue. This dialogue took place sometimes when they were together but mostly on the phone or via Skype as Nick was on tour and Natalia is an actress in LA. Both famous in their own right but with a 13 year age gap and that was the crux of Natalia's fear of having a "relationship" with a younger man so they embark on a no-strings sexual relationship only to be in contact every day in some shape or form.
I LOVE Nick's character and his outlook on life, he's the PERFECT guy. Commanding, dirty, fun yet not afraid to show his feelings, an old soul trapped in a sexy young man's body.
This story is well written and I enjoyed it immensely, the only criticism would be that I was wanting more from the last chapter before the epilogue. The last chapter felt like it was told rather than showed to us unlike the rest of the book (which was done perfectly) a lot of events went on in this chapter but we were only given the highlights, a MAJOR disappointment for me. I think that this story needed a novella to finish off Nick's and Natalia's story then together with the completed books it would have been an enduring love story that I would have read and re-read for years to come. I still RECOMMEND this book to you but for me, it wasn't an off the charts, never forget, must re-read again and again love story. Close (no pun intended) but not quite. Still well done though.
