if you havent read any book by this author please check out her other books.
SM Soto has been true to this story. Dark and twisted, is what she gave, a surprisingly good read that will have you hooked, gobsmacked and then BAM.....the ending is not what you expected.
Now, tbh at first it was hard for me to continue with this story cause at first it lacked in a way that I didn't feel connected, now when Sophia was found my thoughts changed and I was hooked, I couldn't not leave it hanging. The feelings between Sophia and her brother Garrett, you can feel the emotions of siblings. Also, Sophia and Creed it took a while for me to actually connect them two together, but just his grey eyes and his dark soul and Sophia's persistence made her character witty and strong-willed and even funny.
The characters throughout the story are strong and you'll do next with them but they play a part and the twist you think you know will totally keep you wondering.
Wow I got blown away and unable to put this book down. Once you start you have to keep going to see what happens next a book hangover for sure. Sophia only has her brother left since their parents got killed in a plane accident. Her brother has a secret life and keeps in touch when he can. Sophia leads a quiet unassuming life until the night she is drugged and kidnapped. She awakes to a nightmare finding she has been kidnapped for the sex slave trade and gets beaten every day to train her. Until the night there is an auction and Sophia finds herself sold to a monster. Suddenly all hell breaks loose and the place is raided. SHe finds herself taken by more men and is terrified of what is going to happen to her next. I can't tell you too much more or it will spoil the story for you. There is a lot of violence and graphic descriptions so if these may affect you setting off triggers this may not be the book for you. It does end in a cliff hanger and I'm just glad Book two was out when I found this series so I could continue on with the next book.
Wow! What an introduction to this authors work. I am a huge lover of anything dark and what Sophia went through in the beginning of this story is every woman's worst nightmare. Snatched from her life, held captive, tortured daily and prepared to be sold to the highest sick bidder, she wishes at times they would just go one step further and kill her. Alas this isn't the case, she finds herself going from one prison to another. only this one has a slew of hot mercenaries vowing to protect her at all costs. And one in particular catches Sophia's eye, Creed. Who wouldn't be attracted to a large well muscled, tattooed bad boy. Though he may look good on the outside his insides are as dark as the pits of hell. He's a cold, calculated killer after all, but Sophia sees something else when she falls into his slate grey eyes.
This book is written from Sophia's POV and is definitely not for the faint hearted as it does contain scenes that some may find disturbing. Me, I have a black heart and can't wait to find out how this story continues. Is it 2019 yet? No? Oh well I'll be waiting impatiently for part 2.
Deception and Chaos (Chaos #1) Rating 1 of 5 stars2 of 5 stars3 of 5 stars[ 4 of 5 stars ]5 of 5 stars Shelves read edit Status October 11, 2018 – Shelved as: to-read 2 Show more Review This was a very new author to me and l went in blind.. Honestly l nearly didn't continue to read it as it was CONFRONTING............BUT
in saying that it was very fitting for the story line.. It is a book of cat and mouse and the human underlying message does not get lost, which l really liked.. The subject matter is dark and the scenes are graphic but they all lend themselves to you investing in the welfare of the characters..
I love that Sophia has spirit and depth.. Garrett is something of a mystery through out the book so l liked that we grow with him.. Creed is all kinds of things to all kinds of people, he is so multi layered, l really enjoyed peeling those layers back and l feel there is still so much more we are going to discover.. The story takes you on a multitude of journeys and it keeps you glued to the book..Even though l personally struggled in parts, the story was so strong that l had to keep going..
And then you get an ending like this... OMG l am so excited to read the follow on to this book.. It is an out of the ordinary read for me but l would highly recommend this to anybody who likes twists and turns and slow burn in their reads...
Had me thinking about this book a few days after l finished it, so that is what l like in a book...
Wow, I don’t even know where to begin reviewing this book. Right from the very first page you are thrown head first into a dark and twisted story that will break you a little bit. The first part of the book is quite graphic and descriptive, certainly not for the faint of heart but necessary for the story to have the impact it deserves.
The characters are complex, the storyline will keep you guessing the whole way through and just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, you’ll be blown away again.
I don’t want to give away any parts of the story, so just read it. You won’t regret it (well, the wait for book 2 to release is going to feel like torture but it’s so worth it!)
Ummmm I'm not even sure how I'm going to review this book. I will say that I almost stopped reading early on due to how emotional it made me. My heart was pounding and at times I was crying so hard I couldn't read the words - some scenes were so raw and powerful that I literally felt sick at certain points.
After a pep talk from a fellow reader I pushed on. SOOO GLAD that I did. This book was EXTRAORDINARY! It's my third read from this author and it's so very different from her other two books. I have no idea where/how this story came but it's definitely one that needs to be told - it's not a pretty/happy read, it's not for the faint of heart as it involves some very dark and difficult subject matter but it's handled in a respectful way and for those that enjoy a dark read this one's for you. I will write a more detailed review once the blurb etc is revealed but trust me when I say you want this on your TBR.
