Some of the premises in these stories were too much of a stretch for me. In addition, the narrator presented as a sheltered Millenial with a limited vocabulary and only a loose grasp of sentence construction and punctuation, making the reading experience less engaging than it otherwise might be. Perhaps one for the fans of the American idiom.
I particularly like the settings and the authors sense of humour. The plots kept me guessing although I found the Icelandic story stretched out a little too long for me (just wanted to find the killer), there is plenty of action and intrigue. Looking forward to more from this author.
