Firstly, let me say I loved that this was set in Australia! I enjoyed reading about towns and places that I know and have visited, which makes for a very different experience to other contemporary romances I've read which are set in places I'm yet to visit.
Secondly, I love that the whole concept of this story was unique - I have never come across anything like this, despite twins being common in a lot of romances.
Per usual with this author the writing was beautiful and heartfelt, with that little bit of grit thrown in to keep it interesting. Lawson and Reed are amazing MCs who have a true connection, and the alternating POV really help you get to know them. Anders and Brodie are fun supporting characters and I can't wait to see more of them in the next book (which I'm assuming is Anders' given there are only 2 Steele brothers...).
I loved that there was a HEA, and really the only thing missing between the end and the epilogue was Law telling his parents - I would have loved that scene included!
Definitely a book I would recommend, and one I know I will read again.
I loved reading this complicated story of Law and Reed. This has everything in it. It hooked me from the first page. Law is a very loving soul but get himself into a real bind. Reed is also a very loving soul and has no idea why he wants one brother while sleeping with the other twin or is he?. I think Eden has don a fantastic job with all the dynamics in this story. Totally loved it and totally worth 5 stars. Very Highly recommend reading this.
I read this book in less than twelve hours - it was that good. Law and Reed's story was fun, sexy and emotional all at the same time. Eden Finley has such a relaxed, easy-to-read style that I really enjoy. I was particularly taken with the character of Law's brother, Anders. Can't wait for his book!
Crazy twins :-) This is fun. Confusion reigns as identities change and eventually the truth cannot be contained under a beard any longer. Worth the read and I can imagine what Anders gets up to in book 2..... Brody perhaps...?
Eden Finely is a fabulous Aussie author. I adored her Fake Boyfriends series and can’t wait for more to be released.
This latest offering, Unwritten Law was terrific, funny, snarky, sweet and angsty, a perfect novel to get lost within. What I especially liked about it was the different plotline this time around was that Unwritten Law, featuring identical twins who adored each other, even with the epic level of competitiveness existing between them, add in the Hercules cargo hold of PTSD, and historical trauma, and the emotional feels just made the story more interesting and compelling. I thought Ms Finley did a standout job in telling Anders and Law's stories, while leading the romance between Reed and Law along. So many things I loved about this book, the setting (Queensland and New South Wales, this time around) professions, Martial arts, teaching and accounting, great diversity. I loved Law, and Reed, especially together and I honestly can't wait for Anders' story, if anyone needs a huge, huge hug it’s him.
Congratulations to Ms Finley, for another top shelf book. Absolutely highly recommended.
Eden Finley strikes again!!! I can’t say enough good things about this book! As always Eden’s writing style is beautiful and full of banter and humour. I love how she writes her characters and makes them so real you want to be friends with them. I completely fell in love with both Law and Reed, they are amazing, beautiful and intense characters. I also fell in love with Anders (Law’s twin) and I think his story will be a tear jerker.
Anders has had some trauma in his past which has led to him having a lot of difficulty in relationships. When the going gets too tough for him and he needs to get out he usually asks Law to step in and break up with his current boyfriend on his behalf which is easy for them to manage with them being identical twins. While Law doesn’t like doing this, he’ll do anything to protect his brother from further hurt. This is all ok until Anders asks Law to step in and stand Reed up before they’ve even had their first date. Law goes to do the deed and instantly feels a spark with Reed and ends up being his date in Anders place. He keeps meaning to own up, but when to do it - during date one which is casual, date two which he promises himself won’t happen and so on....
So Reed and Law have a big secret to overcome if they are to get their HEA. Luckily they have lots of chemistry (and I mean a big bang not a little spark!) and a real connection, but will these be enough to get them through the lies and hurt.
Read it now, you won’t be disappointed!!
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review
OMG! You need to one-click this baby! And then you need to fall in love with Lawson and Reed as much as I have!!!! If you are looking for a binge-worthy story, this book is for you!
Being a twin, it’s easy to trick people. But when Lawson is the one that has to help Anders (his twin brother) breaking up with his dates, he might need to rethink the charade when a blind date he was supposed to ditch catches his attention! Lawson has always been straight, well to everyone else he has, but he always knew he was bi, he just never acted on it, until Reed!
Reed is new in town, so when his neighbor sets him up on a blind date with Anders he willingly goes. But when their blind date suddenly ends up at their place, they are explosive hot together!!!
Reed doesn’t know Lawson/Anders is a twin, he also doesn’t know that Anders is really Lawson and the charade keeps up!
He meets Lawson as himself but the unmistakable chemistry between them continues, even though he can’t act because he knows Lawson is straight!
But what happens when you start falling for the twin brother who’s straight? What happens when they both start falling for each other??? How can one keep up the lie that could tear them apart????
This book has it all! The chemistry (And wow-wee their chemistry from the get go was off the charts!!!) the passion, the hurt from the past, little white lies, fun moments and everything in between!
You will fall in love with Lawson and Reed and have you cheer them on! But you will also fall in love with Anders after hearing some of his sad tragic past!!! I cannot wait for Anders’ story! I think that one is going to shed some tears! But please make sure you read this book!!! Definitely worth it! ❤️❤️❤️
I just love Ms Finley and her MM romances! I was so excited to hear that we had another book coming from this fabulous author so close after the release of her last book! I could not wait to read it. I just love a good MM romance. I thought this book was good. I thought the characters were cute and I am hoping that Anders might have his love story coming next! Maybe with a certain lawyer!
So, Law usually breaks off things with his brother's boyfriends, seeing as no one can tell them apart. There are reasons behind this, and they come to light as you read the story. I felt like Law could have told Reed several times about what was happening but he chose not to. Reed is a teacher, and new to town. He gets set up on a blind date with Anders. Or is it Anders? hmm.. you will have to read to find out what happens.
I enjoyed reading this story. I enjoy reading all of Ms Finley's stories. I was pulled in by the blurb and the cover, because the cover is pretty hot. I like the premise of the story and the way the words flowed. I thought the characters were great together even through the slight deception. I can't wait to see what else comes from this series!
I got taken away from the first sentence. Love theses characters and the dynamics that follows. I love Eden's writing, its so real and raw. I feel like I know these characters. I loved the depth in this story and the fact that Eden embraces the serious issues of domestic violence and that the people around the victims are sufferers too. I love the ups and downs of the story and theres nothing wrong with a little twin fun and hijinx. I enjoyed the story development and seeing the feelings develop between Law and Reed was really special. I loved this story and have a massive soft spot for the Steele Brothers and look forward to Anders story which I'm hoping is coming up next....
I also love that its set in my current home town and get stupidly giddy when I see references to Carindale or Brisbane, for me it make the characters more real, like I could pass them in the street (which also sounds a little creepy knowing their bedroom activities). All in all a great book, recommend read and I love reading and connecting with Australian authors and look forward to many more books by Eden Finley!!
