Another brilliant story! Reece, Ben and little Georgie take you on a journey that has mystery, intrigue, discovery of emotions and feelings, but the true hilarity starts when The Marian family become involved. There’s heartache but a lot of love surrounding everyone, but Aunt Tilley and her girls get the whole show on the road. A must read.
Made Mine a Protector/ Marian crossover, was a terrific change of pace for the fabulous duo authors Kennedy and Lennox.
Normally their collaborations are hell bent chock a block full of heart-wrenching angst, dark humor, sexy-times and emotional feels, this time around, while there was some humor, sexy-times and a lotta feels, the overall plot was a fair bit lighter than the emotional heartache that is Kennedy's trade mark.
For those that aren't sure whats what, this installment can definitely be read as a standalone, but it will be enormously more enjoyable if read as a part of the Marian/ Protector series. From previous Protector & Finding books, we caught snippets of Reese from a variety of previous Kennedy books, but he had a large off page role in Finding Hope ( where he was injured) to Unexpected, as the self-exiled son of Everett Shaw, the former POTUS. Back then Reese, had a mountain full of hate, and angst and job related injuries to work through to become this recovering, insightful, adorable quasi-shy, stoic man.
Ben, we knew a little about about from Griff's storyline where Griff, had been searching for his missing brother, for many, many years. When Ben and Reese come together its like kismet. Add in smoking hot sexy times, a clear and present threat to Ben and Georgia, Ben's cute kid sister, her hairy eight-legged ugh... pet, and a multitude of odd-ball Marian family members mixed up with more than a few excellent members of Ronan's crew, and this was another standout book from our dynamic duo.
I love both authors and I read everything they write, whether collaboratively or individually, and I have to say this latest from them was just as entertaining as all their previous collaborative work. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Highly recommend reading for lovers of Lennox's Marian/Wilde series, and Kennedy's Protectors/ Finding series.
PS: As a die hard fan of Ronan and Seth, I was a happy, happy fan girl when Ronan and his team made a significant appearance and contribution within this book.
I love Lucy Lennox's Made Marian series. I love Sloane Kennedy's Protector series. It was no surprised that I would love this crossover book by those two ladies.
This book had so many feelings and emotions. It was a true collaboration between Ms Lennox and Ms Kennedy. Made Mine is not as heavy as the Protector series, and not a light read as the Made Marian series. It had just the right amount of angst, suspense, sweetness, comical relief and sexual tension to make this great read. It was nice to see our favourite Marian family appearances as well as the Protector Men. Well done on another stella book!!
Made Mine was an amazing mix of Protectors and Marion’s and I loved every minute of this book. A perfect mix of angst, humour, sweetness and hotness. I love character driven books and there are so many awesome characters, I loved Reece and Ben. Could have lived without that pet though!! It helps if you have read some of Sloan’s Protector series and/or Lucy’s Marion series, but only if you want to know about the supporting characters. It has enough of its own plot to stand alone.
I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. An absolute page turner. This book had everything: angst, humour, drama, romance. I really enjoyed both these series but I loved this crossover book. What a fabulous idea. Reading about couples from previous books and what they are up to now along with their new families was great. Reese was just adorable with his inexperience and Bens story was both heart breaking and heart warming. Loved this book.
I fell in love with Sloane's wonderfully warm and vulnerable heroes in her various series' and this is a great follow-on crossover filling in some gaps in the Marian series and bringing in the protector ones, I look forward to seeing something more of the wilde bunch having a place alongside. I highly recommend these stories.
