I am not 'reading' this book but using it to learn some French. I'm reading it chapter by chapter, and revising at the end of each chapter. So I cannot provide much review yet. For the chapter I've worked on, there was a lot to learn. Unfortunately, it does not come with a free audiobook. So this book is just half as good as it should be. I'm learning the pronunciation somewhere else.
The learning content in the start of this book is very dry, teaching grammar rules and not really building much from lesson to lesson, a good reference resource but not a course in itself unless you are approaching it from a purely academic standpoint. The phrasebook is fairly standard faire (pun intended) providing what you are likely tonfind in the majority of boks available in stores. The real standout of the bundle is the short stories, providing entertaining and easy to read stories that are presented at a range of levels for different readers. Get the bundle for the short stories alone skip the course or keep it as a reference and keep the phrasebook, it's as good as any you will get.
