This series was a DFN for me.I made to chapter 3 in the first book and gave up. Too many inconsistencies and odd, not required descriptions being added where they were it's needed. The H is a dr from New York and yet when confronted with an emergency situation doesn't do the basics of the profession. No dr puts their hands to their mouths in 'amazement' when discovering lacerations on a guy who has passed out on their doorstep. No dr eyes off and discusses the physique of a patient while treating them for apparently life threatening injuries-they are just a body until they are in the clear. And there is no sexual innuendo if a body is discussed. There is a professionalism that has to be upheld. Also why do I need to know she is an attractive brunette as she is shining a neuro torch over said pts eyes? Calling emergency services and saying she is a dr and would commence care would of worked if she was so worried about him dying on way to hospital? Instead by doing it herself to be seen as the hero she makes the full responsibility for him hers without the proper facilities or equipment. You can still be the hero who recognises when emergency services are required. Why are her 'friends' pushing her to date 5 months after a divorce with her high school sweetheart so that's a relationship nearly 15-16years long and apparently can be brushed off or there is something wrong with her? And this is just some of the things that got under my skin. I really really could not like this book. I did not like the writing voice and as I said inconsistencies/discrepancies. It did have potential when I read the blurb. It is 2 stars for the DNF.
