One of my top reads of 2018. I couldn’t put it down. Daisies & Devin is a sweet, tragic and poetic story of love, loss and dreams come true. A chance encounter in their early twenties sees Kylie & Devin on the course of a deep friendship that sets the agenda for them to live their dreams and be the loves of each other’s lives. This is not your average rock star romance and it is refreshing to experience a man living his dream with integrity. The slow burn is deliciously satisfying and pays off with a fantastic happy ever after. Kylie is flawed but likeable and from the prologue all I was rooting for her was to find peace, love and happiness. The lyrics and poetry are beautifully written and we all deserve a hero like Devin O’Leary. This story has stayed with me in the days since finishing it and I can’t recommend it enough if you are looking for a beautiful and deeply satisfying love story.
Daisies & Devin Kelsey Kingsley “But this was a good day. I had daisies, and I had Devin.” This book was so hard to put down, damn you responsibilities! I was compelled to read this story. Devin and his KJ are best friends for YEARS, no benefits just friends. Can they risk it all? “On shaky legs, I stepped into the elevator, grateful that I had Kylie there to keep me from squealing like a little girl.” A thread of Edgar Allan Poe poetry pulls through their intertwined fates, hopes and dreams. The song “be alright” by Dylan Lewis suits this story and should be the soundtrack! Depth of character and a compelling story take you through the angst to the end. Well done Kelsey Kingsley. This reads as a stand-alone with hea. I received an ARC of this book.
It's rare for me to read a book that so utterly captivates me, that entrances and enchants me. This is a beautifully written story that captures the fragility of love and the importance of letting dreams diverge. Daisies & Devin is a breath of emotional perfection.
I love Kelsey's writing style, it's easy to fall into love, friendship, lust with her characters. I have only just discovered her work & I am a converted fan, I have now read all her books & eagerly await new work. Do yourself a favour & discover her today. Daisies & Devlin was great, I love the depth of the characters & the layers to the story.
