Another amazing book in this series!

I think this is the best book in the series so far. Not only did it build on the supernatural world we've seen to date, and the relationship between Nix and the guys, but also the mystery associated with the council. How it all ties into Nix's past with Michael is being revealed with pieces of the puzzle now revealing part of the bigger picture - and it's definitely bigger than we previously were shown!
Things aren't all smooth sailing for Nix and the guys. They're still getting to know each other better, and in Nix's case, she's trying desperately to be strong and to not be triggered. She has a lot more flashbacks in this one due to various events, and the guys start to realise the extent and uniqueness of her triggers too. There were definitely some moments where I had to reach for the tissues as we were inside Nix's head when she triggered. Very well written to capture that depth of emotion!
A surprise houseguest shows up in this one too - and boy does he add a different dynamic to the group! I thought Killian and Ryder added the comedic layer in previous books, but they have nothing on Ciaran! He was definitely hiding something underneath that layer of crazy though, and I was glad we got to see what it was before the end of the book.
I can't help but love all of Nix's guys - Damien, Ryder, Killian, Hiro and Theo are all great friends, balance each other and form a unique family that Nix feels welcome and comfortable being part of. As things heat up with Nix, it's great to see no jealousy between them too.
I'm definitely enjoying the mystery side of things as well - that was what kept me turning page after page into the early hours of the morning. I look forward to the next book now that things in this storyline are just ramping up! Despite that, this was not a cliffhanger ending as we've seen in some of the previous books, so that was a nice change. Just a lead in to what the next book will be like.
