Absolutely loved it!!

Amazing start to what promises to be a fantastic new series. The concept of angels and demons has been taken to a new level, with the Archangels having brought the war between heaven and hell to Earth, inadvertently granting humans powers of angelic or demonic origin and affinity. In an attempt to lessen the impact, the powers were locked away until the human turns 18, at which time the Archangel Raphael will unlock the powers, revealing them for what they are. Things aren't as easy as that though, with demons granting favours in exchange for servitude. What they hid in the fine print is that the firstborn of the one entering the debt will also enter slavery after their abilities are unlocked. Which is where we meet Brielle. Her mother entered into a debt to save her father from cancer, but come Brielle's awakening ceremony and things don't go according to plan when she is revealed as some kind of Celestial - a power with Angelic origin rather than demonic.
I don't want to go into too much detail on the plot, but lets just say she has a rough journey ahead of her, but manages to make some new friends from unlikely sources.
The worldbuilding and attention to detail is amazing. The characters well developed, and the storyline flowed well and with intrigue. I couldn't put it down from page 1, and I'm glad that book 2 is now out so I can keep reading.
I highly recommend this book - a definite 'must read' for anyone looking for something new and different.
