Dave is one of the people I like to listen to. I know he used to weigh 300 pounds. He tells us in every podcast. I think I knew most of what I read in this book but the thing about being a person who knows is that we have to keep being reminded because knowledge comes into the brain and we live it for a while and then we get on with our habits, be they good or bad. It is good to be reminded of the choices that promote a feeling of calm, a healthy body when mine has let me down in the past and to focus on the avoidance of all of the evils that big companies perpetrate on the ignorant public on a daily basis. Read this and know that Dave has your back.
Really liked a lot of the info and hacks presented in this book, lots of different things to try and still working thru it to see which ones work best for me. I have quite a lot of follow ups from it. Ended up purchasing quite a few other books to find out more in depth info about specific things. e.g. circadian code. There are real actionable things in this book, especially liked the info on gratitude and meditation and breathwork.
As a 56 YO female about to change careers (not by choice), within a few chapters of reading this book , I'd already signed up and commenced multiple online uni courses to prepare for my exciting future. I was headed to resigning myself to accepting and believing I was too old and needed to sit quietly and knit! Now I'm listening to my inner self and can't wait to add value to the world. Knitting is on my 120 YO list of this to do :)
Great book, plenty of stuff I already knew but heaps I didn't. The information was condensed well to load heaps of interesting stuff into it without having to read 30 pages to get one point across. The small action items additions post chapter were a great way to not feel like you had to be taking notes the whole time. I will be checking out other books by this author.
Thanks to this book and Dave's others books I am undertaking practices to make my life healthier, happier, more fulfilled and way more interesting than before. And he tells us all these things with a dash of humor and a bit of cheek. Love it.
There is so much in this book. This is not one I will read end to end - rather it represents a valuable reference and I find myself revisiting sections and thinking about how it relates to what I am doing now. Definitely a keeper and I hope my kids get to read it.
This book condensed 5 years of podcasts and the best at their game into ONE place. Grab a pen, you’ll need it. Take notes and learn from the global leaders in their chosen field. A MUST buy.... get it and you won’t regret it.
