I was cautiously optimistic going into the purchase as a 25 year old that grew up with these games, hoping to relive fond nostalgic moments. I was so happy after beginning it! the game is brilliant from the soundtrack to the gameplay. the changes made have added an interesting twist to a tried and true formula while making the game more approachable for a younger audience. I would recommend this game to gamers of all ages it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience with a price to match
Change in game mechanics, similar to Pokemon Go where you don't battle wild pokemon - but still battle trainers and gyms. At first you're disappointed, but in actual fact removes the grind out of the game somewhat and makes it more fun imho. Can also link your Pokemon Go game too.
Otherwise the graphics are great and plays really well on the Switch.
Hardcore Pokemon players may not like the change, but still makes for a fantastic Pokemon game.
Pros: Coming from the analog generation and a first-gen pokemon Red/Yellow player this game does alright as a remake of sorts. Story wise it's more or less similar. I particularly enjoyed the current gen visuals and the familiar soundtrack.
Cons: Having played Ultra Moon just before, the gameplay feels too easy/simplistic at times. Bear in mind this game is not intended to be a full featured pokemon game, as a lot of the game features and mechanics are stripped down to basics to accomodate and newbies to the franchise. Still good fun though.
A reimagining of Pokemon yellow, with some welcome changes and touches, but definitely at the cost of difficulty or challenge. Let's Go aims to intersect Pokemon Go players and others new to the franchise with the story and world of main franchise entrants. It is filled with delightful touches and joyful mechanics, but experienced players probably won't find it as compelling or exciting as main games. That said, it's a wonderful nostalgia trip and great to play with a young one or as a relaxing time waster.
