This was the first book I've read by this author. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't for me either. I thought given so many found it funny, that I would too, but no. It really wasn't funny at all. I struggled to warm up to the characters too. They were a little cringe worthy to me to be honest. The best character was Chris, Mindy's gay best friend. The story seemed to jump around all over the place and the whole dating show thing threw me. It seemed like a lot of trouble for Arlie to go through, just for a chance with Mindy when he could have simply rung her. He did get her number after all. Some of Mindy's references to her body were kind of funny, but for me, sadly, this missed the mark.
