Absolutely ah-mazing!!!! This book has completely destroyed me emotionally. I thought that The Night Realm was incredible, but The Shadow Weaves just takes everything I adore about the first book and makes it even better!!!!!!! This series is wonderful, this author is extremely talented and I will continue recommending, mentioning, cajoling, encouraging and if need be, pushing these books onto every reader I meet.
Clio is once again a fierce, thoughtful and brave heroine that you can't help but feel very invested in her emotional journey. The character arcs are absolutely stunning! Clio grows so much (I cried a little at what she faces towards the end! I was so shocked!) and then there was Lyre - smoldering, brooding and providing a well needed dose of humour. That being said, Lyre has a lot of tough emotional turmoils to overcome, and just overall, I'll repeat it - the characters arcs are just incredible. Clio and Lyre really carry the majority of the book (and so well!), but of course we bump into new and old characters with reveals, reveals and then more reveals in between.
The mythology is solid, as usual - everything made sense, I felt completely immersed in the world, and I can't wait to discover more about this world.
Whoa, that plot. Intense, action packed and full of sexytimes - intrigued? Then that is all I'm leaving you with and you'll just have to read the book! (Also, that ending... ahhhhhhhhhhh, I thought the end of The Night Realm was intense and made the wait for the next book difficult, but The Shadow Weave, whooaaaaaaaaaaa, I am so excited for the final book!)
So, do I recommend this book? YES. (I've also just finished Chase the Dark, and so I know now that I adore everything about this world, series and whatever this author writes will become a new favourite)
*Thank you very much to the author, Annette Marie, for providing me with an eARC of this book. I received this eARC in exchange for an honest review*
This is a good sequel to the first one and is better than the first even though it still moves a little sluggishly. The action was more exciting and made it a decent read. The inconsistencies of the characters could be a little off-putting but otherwise, I would recommend to fantasy fans.
