This is a fantastic and well written series. I love that the concept of dragons/shifters has been given a whole new spin - this unique take, as well as the characters, really make it a book that you can't put down once you start reading.
The worldbuilding is incredible - I would love to see a map of the world at some point - that is probably the only thing missing.
The characters continue to develop and grow, revealing new facets if themselves as they get to know each other better. 2 big reveals happen in this one - one relating to Auric and a secret he's been keeping and the other associated with Kira and why she has been chosen. But you'll need to read it to find out more!
I am actually thrilled that Slade and Reven didn't instantly fall for Kira - that despite the mate bond, they are thinking with their head instead of their heart for a bit. I know that their reluctance is completely based on bad experience in their past, but it makes for a different take on the RH mates trope.
Kira and Jasin continue to grow closer, and Auric does as well Jason and Auric are getting along better and working as a team too, which was great to finally see. The one thing they all do bond over is the need to protect Kira at all costs regardless of their romantic feelings for her.
Can't wait for the next one and to see where the series takes us!!
Another great book in the Her Elemental Dragons series!
Elizabeth Briggs has picked us up right where we left off in Stroke The Flame, with Kira and her four Dragons heading towards the Air Realm. This book has bene written well with the pace being just right to allow for each Dragon to have their own tale (even with all the characters involved). While we went to the Fire Realm for Jasin in book 1, this time we get to see the different culture surrounding the Air Realm with Auric, along with all the rigmarole that goes with being Royalty. However, even though this book is centred around the bonding with Auric, we still get to see each characters personality and their interactions with the other characters (i.e. Reven hiding in the shadows but making comment on others feelings, and Jasin providing a little fire and assistance when needed).
I love that we also have the added bonus of a new friend in Brin, and only hope to see more of her own story in the future (perhaps a side story of her own?).
While we finally learn something about Kira's past, we are still left with questions about her fate and I look forward to finding the answers in the coming books. Can't wait to read about Slade's story in Shake the Earth.
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration**
The second book in this fabulous series did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoy Elizabeth’s writing style. This book is fast paced and full of romance. I could not put it down! Kira is such an endearing character and I find that each mate brings such an individual and personal touch to the story. The romance chapters are mouth watering good. It is fairly intense so if that’s not your cup of tea, don’t read reverse harems lol. I love the adventure that continues to unfold before me and wait in serious anticipation for the next books.
Great story......my biggest disappointment was the three questions they asked WTF......l mean they are faced with an impossible task and they ask those dumb questions unbelievable....! Anyway l am still reading lol onto the next...!
