‘FOUR DAY FLING’ is a standalone romantic comedy by Emma Hart. It’s a humorous, enthralling and exciting ride. Poppy is a headstrong, unafraid to say what she thinks and at times very awkward women. Despite this she is a very loveable character. She decides to take a one night stand to her sister’s wedding as she needs a date but she doesn’t know who he really is.
Adam is a famous, rich, handsome and hockey extraordinaire guy. What could go wrong with helping out his one night stand.. So he accepts without hesitation... “Yeah. Waking up to find that someone I’d had sex with left me a note to ask me to their sister’s wedding? I’d be a little weirded out. I’d also hope that you never found me again.” He snorted. “And you weren’t weirded out by me?” “A little. But, hey. Despite that, I kinda like you, Red.”
When Poppy shows up with him, her family nearly lose their minds especially her dad and nephew who are huge fans...
Another absolutely hilarious book by the talented Emma Hart that was full of quirks and real life situations you can easily imagine. This book has a great premise and the humour and heat creates a great escape from life.
So it’s gotten to the point that I don’t even read the blurbs anymore when I see Emma hart has a new release coming out, this one is no exception Adam and poppy had chemistry from day dot,I just loved every aspect of this book,it’s awkward as sh$& in some spots and you loose yourself laughing in other spots, Don’t miss out and one click 😀
Because asking a stranger to be your date to your sister's wedding is a great plan!
It's the morning after a one-night-stand and Poppy is considering asking this guy, who she can't recall the name of, if he'd be her date to her sister's wedding over the weekend. Adam agrees, as long as they can continue having sex during their fake relationship. So begins their four day fling, trying to convince Poppy's family that they've been in a relationship for a few months, as opposed to one night of hot sex. And of course, things take a turn the moment Poppy introduces Adam to her family - because Adam is really Adam Winters, a star hockey player that her entire family idolises. Now, spending the next for days together, Adam and Poppy begin to connect, despite being aware of the deadline on their fake relationship. Even though they are from different worlds, they both realise they don't want this fling to end.
Hi, I'm Victoria and I've fallen down the Emma Hart rabbit hole! Seriously, I can't get enough of Emma's books and the romances she creates. Poppy and Adam are probably one of my favourite couples that Emma has written about, and I honestly wish there was more (I'm hanging out for a sequel that will follow Poppy's friend Avery, just so we see more of Poppy and Adam!).
Of course, this story is a little cliched - two people fake a relationship only to end up falling in love - but it's a cliche you can't help but love, especially when it's executed well. And that's exactly what Emma has done. Poppy and Adam have such a cute and fun relationship, with some steamy scenes on the side, mixed with a lot of sarcastic banter. Throw in a crazy family, and you've got yourself a funny and swoon-worthy story you'll just fly through.
The only thing I kinda wish this story had, although I'm also glad it didn't, was Poppy's mother's reaction to her fake relationship. Her mother, Miranda, is kind of a bitch, and I was patiently waiting for some kind of confrontation, but it never came. However, as I said, I'm kind of glad we never got that, because it would have really thrown the story.
I'm a sucker for romance, so this book was a really great read. Anyone who loves romance will definitely enjoy this book. And if you're an Emma Hart fan, you will no doubt consume this in one sitting!
Four Day Fling by Emma Hart is a hilarious, snarky standalone contemporary romance told with the signature wit and sass I have come to expect (and hope for) in Emma's heroines. The girls are never perfect but they are always funny and so very real. Well-paced and well-written (as always) this story of Poppy and Adam was just one calamitous riot of laughs after another.
Poppy needs a date for her sister's wedding before satan (aka her mom) finishes her off for good. When she summons up the sheer bravado (and stupidity) to ask her one-night stand she can't believe that 1) he agreed and that 2) she didn't nip it in the bud before the four day wedding extravaganza in the Florida Keys. Luckily he is a great partner in crime and it really isn't too hard to act like they're a couple but that is another problem all on its own...
Adam agrees to this quirky red-heads request to be her fake boyfriend at her sisters wedding but truly does not expect the sheer cluster of snark and sass that is not just Poppy but also her mom, her sister, even her geriatric grandpa. But he isn't disappointed because this is the most fun he has had in a long while and it is so easy to pretend the relationship because, just maybe, there could be more happening than either of them realize. Especially when she has no idea of his fame in the professional hockey world and clearly isn't after him for his status and wealth which by itself is wholly refreshing.
Loved this so hard - Anything from Emma Hart is a must-read for me and has been for a few years now. Enjoy!
