What an epic end to the series (or so it seems - I wouldn't be opposed to reading more of Cassandra, Roan and the crew). Everything comes to a head in this book - all of the plotting with scheming in the different courts, the threat of the Seelie, and where Cassandra fits in all of it. I loved how we got to see her go through the decision process - weighing up options, working through the long term consequences and whether she could live with them. It wasn't a rushed or lightly made decision and the book was better for it. There wasn't one culmination point - the various storylines we've been following wrapped up at different points, meaning there was flow and satisfaction throughout the book rather than it leading to one major event that was over too quickly. This whole series was well written, and I loved Cassandra's journey throughout. Highly recommend this series, and I would definitely read more of this series if produced, and more from these authors as well.
These two writers have truly worked magic with this short yet intoxicating series. The final book is a fitting finale that nicely wraps up any loose ends whilst just maybe leaving the door ajar for future books, we can only hope. I definitely prefer my series to be 6 to 12 books long at least, but was immediately caught up with this clever story from book 1. The authors have created some intriguing, rich and memorable characters in this series and every book has been non-stop action, adventure, mystery and romance. I'm not normally a huge romance fan, preferring the action of the story over the action in the bedroom, but this series has a romantic, lustful undercurrent that fits in well with the story and just Pulls you along with it! The two main characters, Cassandra and Roan, are instantly fascinating and the relationship between them and the other supporting characters is fun and absorbing to read. Marvellous world building makes it easy to imagine the scenes as described and really draws you into the story. In short; an un-put-downable book, at the top of my favourite series list for 2017. Bravo!
Love CN Crawford. Had read their divine hunter series and this series was just as awesome if not more. Love all the characters with their humour, strength and vulnerability. Great storyline and excellent editing. Wish it wasn’t finished.
