I have been doing Erin's Shrink Session workouts for a few years and had been looking forward to reading this book to learn even more about how to combine mantras (positive affirmations) with movement (physical exercise).
The book explains the WHY as well as the HOW behind this powerful approach to mind-body wellbeing. Since beginning to workout this way, I have seen my love of exercise, my appreciation of my body and my overall confidence in myself and life increase.
For many years I had so much resistance to more "masculine" styles of exercise that emphasise pushing hard and toughing it out. As a sensitive female who isn't traditionally athletic, Erin's method felt like I'd FINALLY found something that could work for me longterm and made me look forward to my workouts - what a gift! I am really grateful to have found Erin's work.
What I love about this approach to movement is that it feels fun, playful, light-hearted, challenging and reinforces a positive relationship with exercise and body-image. I feel more connected to my body and feminine energy after a workout which is so great. The mantras spark creativity, get my ideas flowing and set the tone to have a more positive day. The bonus is I can do these workouts from anywhere and as someone who travels for 6months+ of each year, this is perfect for me!
The book is part how-to and part motivational. I enjoyed the personal stories throughout each chapter that give examples of how to create mindset shifts and attract more of what we desire through the law of attraction and having beliefs that align with our goals.
It's a relatable, encouraging, practical and easy read that will guide you to transform your life in a truly holistic, healthy and sustainable way.
