Wow!! Damian and Charlie’s story definitely packs a punch! I love how their feelings develop slowly and yet the heat between them is undeniable. I loved getting to know more about Charlie and her life - we are first introduced to her in Jonathan and Gabby’s story, that small taste left me wanting to know more and Jerica delivers. It did frustrate me that Charlie didn’t put more faith in Damian’s character but I’m sure it will be a lesson well learnt by the end of book 2. Damian is such a gorgeous guy - he’s sexy yet shy and understated, and I loved it when he lets his passion turn him into a bit of an unexpected alpha. It was also very refreshing to have the male lead in a college romance not be a player but rather place value on a solid relationship before indulging in sex! This book more than earned its 5 stars for me and I’m very eager to read the next installment. I received an ARC of this book and I voluntarily leave this honest review.
Broken Chords is book four in the Songs and Sonatas series but this is the first book for Charlie and Damian.
I found Charlie such an interesting character in the first three books. You would think she has it all but hearing about her life just broke my heart. She desperately needed a break and I was so happy she finally got into Marycliff and is starting uni as Charlie and not Charlotte James - the world famous pop diva.
Damian is such a loveable guy from a good family. These two are the perfect match on paper but he doesn’t know who Charlie really is. Charlie’s mother is a real piece of work. She’s really a despicable woman who doesn’t care about her daughters well being at all. Grrr!!! I loved that Damian gives Charlie the chance to find out what it’s like to be loved for her and not for her fame ... but it does come at a cost. We know that lies will always come back to haunt you. I can’t wait for the conclusion of their story as this one does end on a cliffhanger. * I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book *
