This was my first book from this author and it won't be my last! I loved the writing style and the alternating POV, which gave greater insight into each of our MCs.
Maddox and Damon meet under unusual circumstances - Maddox gets invited to his ex-girlfriend's wedding, but the catch is he told her he was gay when he broke it off with her, and that he has a boyfriend, so now he needs to produce said boyfriend as his date to the wedding. His best friend Stacy comes to the rescue by offering her gay brother Damon, an injury-retired baseball player turned agent, in exchange for Maddox introducing him to his brother-in-law who is a famous hockey player. Following so far? Maddox and Damon turn up to the wedding, and with a weekend of them pretending to be a couple, Maddox realises his lie might not be as false as he has been trying to convince himself.
The story is well written, the humour witty and well timed. I loved that both Maddox and Damon had their hangups that they had to work through - their vulnerabilities and insecurities made them all the more real, and especially Maddox going through his sexual awakening and admitting to himself, more than anyone else, that he was bi. I also loved that their connection wasn't all physical - they were a good match and had an emotional connection as well. I loved their journey!
The supporting characters were well written too, and I can't wait to read Matt and Noah's story. From what we know of them from this book, that is going to be one hilarious and volatile partnership!
This is the first book I’ve read by Eden Finley, but it definitely won’t be my last. It was so well written with beautiful MC’s and the dialogue between them was very funny, I had plenty of laughs/giggles while reading it.
Maddox is a commitment-phobe and ran out on his high school fiancée by saying he was gay. When he bumps into her several years later at her hen party she invites him and his boyfriend to the wedding. So Maddox needs a fake boyfriend fast. I love fake boyfriend stories so this was always going to be a winner for me.
The boyfriend in question is Damon, his best friend Stacy’s gay brother. Damon starts out disliking Maddox for pulling the gay card when he’s straight, but it turns out Maddox may not be as straight as he thought.
I just loved the characters and the attraction between the guys as they tried to work out if they were prepared to be vulnerable enough to have a relationship with each other. Lots of fun with a great supporting cast of characters - can’t wait for Noah and Matt’s story!
This is my first Eden Finley read and I was not disappointed, it went beyond my expectations.
I loved reading Maddox and Damon’s story, they were perfect together. The witty banter, the chemistry, the push and pull and the connection between them makes this story funny and sweet.
Maddox had me snickering and laughing out loud so much with his witty/sarcastic comments and comebacks. Damon had me swooning with his Alpha bossyness and jealous/possessiveness.
I loved this story and how much it had me snickering and laughing out loud. I loved the relationship between Maddox and Damon, it didn’t feel rushed or forced it felt natural and flowed really well. I loved the chemistry and steam with Maddox and Damon. I loved how sweet and fun this story is to read. This is definitely one I will be reading again in the future
Im looking forward to seeing what happens with the other characters throughout the series.
Bribed to be a fake boyfriend for his sisters straight best friend, Maddox, Damon struggles with his feelings, having been badly hurt in the past. Maddox ends up feeling all sorts of things he shouldn’t for a guy, having also been hurt in the past. As these men struggle with working through past hurts to find a way to be together, they realize they may have just found the one person who can help them heal & spend the rest of forever with, but with misunderstandings and harsh words, is it all over before it starts? A great read that will have you laughing & thoroughly loving these two guys & their crazy, loving family & friends.
So first time reading a m/m book and I have to say I love it you can almost feel the emotions coming off the pages I so wanted to slap the sh*t out of Eric and make Stacy wrote out lines that girl is trouble with a cap T but still luv her If you pick this book you won't be disappointed and your in line for an emotional ride
This book is not only well written with really interesting characters, but it has humour peaking out here and there to make you smile. The author shows great insight into the characters and their emotions and carries you along for the ride. I really enjoyed reading this book.
this was an enjoyable read. when your best friend offers her brother up as your fake boyfriend for your ex girlfriends wedding it sure delivers some awesome scenes, good one liners and a light hearted story.
After having struggled through another story by another author it was a delight to read Fake Out with it’s witty dialogue. This is the first book I’ve read by Eden Finley and I look forward to reading more by Eden.
