I've read this series more times than I can remember. This book Had me hooked beginning to end. The beauty of storytelling is absolutely rife. It was great to get more of an insight into Samuels history and the introduction of Ariana was perfect. And Mercy?... She's like the gift the keeps giving!
Firstly I would like to point out this is NOT a Dark Carpathian book-that is C Feehans series! Patricia Briggs tells a great story with an involved plot, well paced & most importantly - interesting. Her characters are REAL flesh & blood so one gets invested in just how it all will pan out. Recommend to lovers of a good read.
1 Star Couldn't finish the book 2 Stars Didn't really like the book, but was interested enough in the story to finish (Skipping great chunks) 3 Stars The book was okay, finished it and will consider reading more from the author 4 Stars Really enjoyed the book, will check out others by this author 4 1/2 Stars Loved the book, will immediately check out others by author, if asked will recommend book 5 Stars LOVED the book, will immediately check out all others by author, will pre-emptively recommend book to ALL my book friends
This book earned it's five stars, I look forward to recommending it to all my friends and I expect to reread it several times over the years.
If i had to chose favourites form the Mercy Thompson series, Silver Born would be right up there. What a great story. Samuel, one of the oldest wolves alive, has lost the will to live. Meanwhile the pack doesn't want Mercy as a coyote as part of the pack and start eroding her bond with Adam. Combine a bounty hunter and a fairy queen with this and chaos ensues.
I've read all the Patricia Briggs books in both the Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series. They are all excellent - well written, with characters and situations you can really care about. Briggs and Jim Butcher are my favourite urban fantasy authors and if you like the genre and haven't read them, you have a treat in store. Can't wait for the next book to come out.
