Last year I bought a second hand Lenovo Thinkpad mini-10 laptop for $10.00. It had 1GB of RAM and a small (80GB) SATA hard drive and it was struggling running Windows XP Home.
I upgraded the RAM to 2GB, replaced the 5400 rpm HDD with the Sunbow 128GB SSD and installed Linux Mint 18.3 64 bit.
It performs well now providing me with a light weight travelling laptop that easily fits in a backpack with a battery life of 6-8 hours. It is not a gaming machine, but is perfect for Internet browsing, email, and playing music (including streaming radio) through the free Clementine music manager.
Came well packaged and is currently operating without issue as a boot drive for an older desktop pc that i gave a refresher. I build budget orientated gaming systems and have used multiples of these, have not had a single issue with any of them.
If you are after a cheap SSD solution then this would be my recommendation.
