EDIT: 8-month update. It is a piece of crap. To be honest as a vacuum it's not bad. It does the job ok. The quality of the components...Rubbish! The stick connection went loose after only a few months. The Collector Bin tab that connects it to the motor section snapped recently. Proscenic's customer service isn't great. Their English is woeful. Slow to reply too. Thankfully Amazon Australia has amazing customer service and helped me out very quickly. They're the best.
There was no way I was going to spend a ridiculous amount for a Dyson so after doing a bucket load of research, I found on paper the Proscenic P9 to be the best.
I've been using it for a week now and it is great. We have a 1 year old daughter. The trail of crumbs and dirt she leaves behind is nuts. We were getting a bit sick of having to either hand brush it up or get the big and bulky vacuum cleaner out every time. The easy of having the stick vacuum makes the house a whole lot cleaner and you can do it so quickly. We have a 2 bedroom townhouse and you can do the whole place in 10 minutes. There's about a 1cm gap from the brush to the outer edge of the vacuum head so you will have to carry the crevasse adapter with you as it doesn't get to the edges/corners. It has great suction and is relatively quiet. It's solidly built with the shaft made of metal not plastic which I was surprised to see. The ability to clean the filters is also a money saver. You can buy replacements of the main HEPA filter which is good too. As our laundry is tiled and we're in a rental we used 3M strips to mount the charging base rather than having to drill holes in the wall. It seems to hold up fine (the vacuum head in resting on the floor though).
The only two negatives I have: - It would be nice to have the charging base to also be able to hold all the accessories and not just the vacuum. - Having to change brush heads between hard floors and carpets. You can get away with just using the hard floor brush on carpet but if you want to get that walked in dirt the carpet brush head is better.
You'll probably want to get the big vacuum out once a month to do a thorough clean but we've only had it a week so we'll wait and see. It'll be interesting to see how it functions after a few months and whether it continues to have great suction.
