I loved this book.

This book totally surprised me because although it was really good right from the start, I didn't immediately think of giving it a full star rating until later on. Only a few things kept it from being perfect for me because for example I didn't like how Jaxson described Leigh as a ‘waiflike delica-cy’. This may seem trivial to most of you but it really made me cringe be-cause I don’t think that’s a nice way to describe a person, especially not from the hero said about the heroine. And there was a much bigger part that almost had me throwing my kindle against the wall. But those things didn’t matter in the end because I was totally captured by the story and the emo-tions it elicited in me.
There was so much that I absolutely loved and which had my feelings all over the place, that it all outweighed the few not-my-type kind of things. Many very heartbreaking scenes, some laugh-out-loud moments, lots of swoon worthy parts and often I couldn’t hold back my tears. Really, I was sobbing quite a lot.
The book started out really good and I liked that we got to know Jaxson’s past and how the Screw Crew got together and grew closer because of what happened. The history of characters is important for me to connect with them so I really liked that.
The story played partly in the past where Jaxson and Leigh met and when everything between them unraveled, and moved on to the present where it all came together again. Sure enough, the rest of the gang wasn't far and we also got some new characters to love. While this is a standalone, I'd recommend to at least read book #2 first because Marcus' story (which is woven into book 2 and 3) really starts there. Jax and Leigh's story can still be enjoyed without having read the previous books though.
I loved this fast paced and quite emotional story a lot especially because the characters already feel like a big family and as the books get better and better in this series, I can't wait to find out what the next one will bring. (PS: I really hope we get to see more of Sebastian.)
