A sweet story with some steamy sensual scenes. Main characters are delightful and the story of their first meeting and the complications ensuing from that make up the bulk of the story. Add in demanding parents and a sleazy ex fiance and you get a very satisfying read
Violet and Aiden meet in his bar and have a weekend of passion then never see each other again until a chance meeting. Violet comes from a wealthy family runs a very successful company. Aiden is looking for a donation to start a recovery house in his family home in memory of his Mom. When Violet sees him and hears him speak her memories come flooding back of their weekend together that resulted in their son. Aiden never knew why he never heard from Violet again. She had suffered an accident with memory loss. But there is still a piece of the puzzle in her memory that she's missing. She just can't put her finger on it. I love the chemistry between Violet and Aiden especially when her penthouse apartment floods and she moves into Aiden's little apartment while it's repaired. The dynamic of rich woman and blue collar bar owner is interesting. He was once an office executive though. I can't stand her smarmy ex boyfriend and Her parent's interference. It's a good read and well written. Totally enjoyable story.
Author Ms Laurence steps up with a rarely seen twist in this plot: instead of every day lady meeting rich man, it's the lady that has the billions. The male protagonist is the one who gets to feel like he's not good enough, worrying he'll be thought a sleazeball money grubber. Unfortunately, the writing is weak, and the story line is thin. This book had the potential to be great, but it widely missed the mark, to the point of being boring. I kept hoping the writing would pick up, but it never did.
I loved every bit of this book from the very beginning. The concept is so interesting (losing a week of your life and not remembering the father of your baby). You were really rooting for Violet and Aiden to make it work. Loved it!
Enjoyed the plot. The h was weak and unsure of herself in the beginning but she was able to stand up to her father for the H. He was great guy. Glad they found each other. Could have used an epilogue. Looking forward to the next book.
