Sally Field’s autobiography begins as a laborious read, taking us on a journey through her childhood and the forces which shaped her, and her pieces.
The final few chapters seemed rushed compared to the early chapters. Several tales from her life have been carefully constructed to protect those still living (or whom died shortly after the book was published....)
Autobiographies like this one make you really wish that we had the chance to learn from our first life in order to use those lessons in our next life and that we really get to enjoy at least one life which is not full of regrets, ignorance and judgement.....so sad we only have one, especially for the children we damage
Sally Field’s memoir is a courageous story told with apparent honesty and introspection. Very timely in the era of #metoo. Sally’s compelling tale was hard to put down and conveys the damage done in childhood that takes a lifetime of recovery.
So moving, honest, profound- and entertaining! One of the best autobiographies I have ever read. I knew very little beyond her screen persona before reading her story, but I am so very glad I now know something of the real Sally Field. And what a story! So honest, brave and revealing. Thank you Sally.
