I really enjoyed this freebie and thank you for being an entire story not part of a duet or more ending with a cliffhanger! It was low angst with likeable characters the only negative for me, and I need to be clear here that I swear a bit myself because sometimes nothing says it as well as a 4 letter word. But the h Catherine swearing just seemed out of character, every time I read a cuss (except for the b------- in the second last chapter) it didn't sit right and frankly seemed unnecessary. It really wasn't all that often though, and the book was an easy enjoyable read.
I read this as part of the ultimate reader challenge. January’s book, a free read.
I quite enjoyed this book. I’ve never read any of Max Monroe’s books and this was a good introduction. First of all, Roll Tide! Second, I love the football aspect here. Third, I love that Quinn was just as invested as Cat. Fourth, I NEED Denver’s book, like, yesterday! This was a great, light hearted read. A couple of times I felt that some dots didn’t connect and that the football technicalities could’ve been played up, more with Jillian and the PR guy whose name escapes me right now. One thing that really bugged me was the assertion that there are direct flights from JFK to Birmingham. A hop and a skip to T Town? My dream! Unfortunately in my experience it’s not a reality! Still, if you’re looking for something light hearted, give this a go!
I've loved Quinn ever since he first appeared on the scene in Max Monroe's books so super psyched to read his story. This series isn't as redonk laugh out loud as the Billionaire Bad Boy series but I still smiled my way through pretty much the whole book. I love how boy-next-door Quinn is (and that's not normally my thang), as much as I love how much he and his Kitty grow through out the novel- together and as people. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Max Monroe have done it again. Their cast of characters are real and funny and you just want to meet them and have a blast. Wildcat is about a quarter back who meets his match in a flight attendant. The cast of supporting characters include a fabulous gay best friend, a dedicated brother, a mismatch bunch of teasing and interfering team mates and of course the parentals. This story was warm, funny and I just couldn't put it down. This is a must read!
I enjoyed this one, as per usual with Max Monroe books. Quinn seems a bit stalker-ish at first, but then I realised its his way of showing he will make an effort and is truly interested in Cat. It’s certainly a great storyline – the very busy flight attendant and the very busy NFL player – how can they make it work with such hectic schedules?
The funny banter between Quinn and Cat, and Cat’s inner dialogue had me laughing at this one.
“In the wise words of Uncle Jessie – Have Mercy”
There were some great secondary characters in this too – Sean, Denver and Nikki and Casey. They helped round things out nicely with some extra comedy.
This one is a fairly fast read, and in true Max Monroe style its quite funny too. There are also some true issues dealt with in the second half of the book, and you’ll understand what I mean when you read it. I thought this was dealt with well, the whole way it was written.
Quinn and Cat might be unconventional at first, but Quinn is a huge softy and the lengths he goes too are quite funny and are the driving force to this story. Everything works out nicely in the end and I look forward to the next book, which is about Sean Phillips. *eep, more Cassie, maybe?*
It seems like forever since the BBB series ended, and even though it is not that long, I have been impatiently awaiting the Mavericks. If you have read the Billionaire Bad Boys, you will have briefly met two of the main players in this book, Quinn and Sean (Sean is Cassie's brother)
Now, as I started reading, I did get the RK Lilley/In Flight series vibe - that's just be the first class plane action though, the gay best friend, all the flying. And it is a good vibe to have.
I loved that Cat doesn't know who Quinn is. I love all the ways that Quinn goes out of his way to see her. I love the spark and the lust between the pair, and being taken on the journey as they fall in love.
I hate hate hate Quinn's parents, and want to hit them both with my Kindle.
I couldn't help but smile - most of the time - as I as reading. There were a couple of sad moments that had me all upset along with the characters.
Just loved it!
Now I need Sean, and I need Denver's stories - stat!
I know we don't have long to wait, bit I am impatient and don't like being kept waiting!
I am a huge Max Monroe fan, I have been addicted ever since I read the first BBB book days after it was released. Normally I devour them and have a hard time putting them down. I found with Wildcat it still had the wittiness and spark that you come to expect from this awesome duo but it took me longer to get into it. I found the beginning slow, it took a while to get drawn in. I did love the chemistry between Quinn and Cat, I also adored Casey. I loved the mix of rom com, real life drama and the insta-lust that combined this book together. Max Monroe have a way of making you relate to the characters and fall in love with them.
