To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
If I had not read the rubric for the book, the beginning few chapters would have had me believe something very different from the truth. And that is the genius of this book. The slow reveal allowing the reader to experience the case in much the same way that the investigators did. A tragic tale of lies, sex and manipulation told in a very approachable way; even the lengthy court cases are written in such a way that the most esoteric workings of the court are understandable. This edition is marred by some very poor editing. There are whole chunks of repeated text and a high number of typographic errors. But don’t let this put you off, this is a worthwhile read if you are interested in sociopathy.
If You Really Loved Me: A True Story of Desire and Murder (True Crime Files Series)
I read this book rwenty years ago and I'm reading it again. It's even more interesting second time around. Anyone interested in human nature, and not familiar with the true story of Cinnamon Brown's horrific manipulation by her despicable father, should read this sensibly written, fascinating account of three unfortunate young women's lives ruined by this man.
I bought a good copy, second hand through AMAZON,for less than three pounds.
I've just bought this book on Kindle but read it years ago. It moved me like no other book before or since, literally had me sobbing. I lent it out and never got it back, so bought another copy in paperback. Now I only use my Kindle, so I just had to buy it again! I've never bought any other book more than once, so I think that speaks for itself.
