New York by Audrey Carlan is the second book in her brand new twelve novella length series, International Guy . A series I was a little worried about reading because I initially had the impression that Parker Ellis was a cad and a womanizer. I soon learned that he is a dedicated businessman, best friend, and a devoted son who doesn't take his emotional entanglements lightly but is NOT yet ready to settle down.
In New York, Parker is on special assignment with an A-List actress that also happens to have been his long time crush. Skyler Paige has lost her mojo and has no desire to act. This is terrible because a) she is extraordinarily talented and b) she has contractual obligations that could ruin her future if she fails to fulfill them. Her best friend and agent hires International Guy based on the recommendation from Sophie, the perfume heiress we met in book one, Paris, and Parker jumps at the chance to be close to the beautiful Skyler. What neither of them expects is their instant attraction to each other and the ability to just BE around each other without the pretense.
Sexy, intense, and a very well-written and enjoyable read this book keeps you interested in the International Guy organization and desperate to know just what on earth is going on in Parker's head. Up next is Copenhagen or you can read the first three books in one collection, International Guy: Paris, New York, Copenhagen. Enjoy!
