This was my first outing with a dungeon core book. The sub genre isn't as restrictive to one location as I first thought. Some familiar monsters and a new one that crept me out. One of the problems with dealing with dark gods is that the person doing the dealing is never as clever as they think. A good build of characters and an interesting storyline that I'll enjoy following.
I enjoyed this take on a dungeon build book. While there wasn't much in the way of dungeon building the potential is there and if the mc doesn't end up building any it will still be fun to follow his adventures as he tries to screw over a dark god I'mlooking forward to the next book
A great read. I really enjoyed the development of the main character and the light/dark gambit. The mindbrood is a very creepy creature. Looking forward to the next book. Thanks Hugo.
This book was a well done book with good pacing, characterisation, plot and setting. The characters had reasonable depth for a first book and the plot twists had enough foreshadowing to hint of you were looking for them but not so much as to give away the twist except from retrospect.
The novel comes to a satisfactory conclusion leading into the next book with few loose ends and no real cliffhangers so I won't be boring the sofa in frustration.
A solid first book in a new series by an experienced author. I would recommend it if you enjoy the litrpg and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
Very good book. A nice change from and a vast improvement over the majority of Kindle Unlimited LitRPGS. Well paced, with believable characters, a good plot and only a small number of grammatical errors. Also wins major points for not being an exercise in teenage male wish fulfillment or relationship dramas... I'll be keeping an eye out for future books by this author.
This a great book, it's a great lit rpg story with some interesting dungeon bulding themes. The lead character is great and it has a magical transition to the fantasy world. Dark, intense and thrilling.
A few shining moments made this read where things all came together, but there were also parts which a cynic might consider shallow or wandering. If you like something a bit different and aren't too fussy about character depth this will do fine and be a bit of fun.
I enjoyed the first book and will be buying the next in the series as it becomes available. I recommend the book to all who are interested in this genre
I found this book a little slow to start and found myself skipping some parts. Having said that the general story was interesting enough to keep me engaged.
Without giving anything away, the perspective of one of the antagonists was disturbing as all hell. So awesome, basically. Have a five star review Mr Hugo
