Shady neighbors on all sides
15 April 2018
If you like paranoid thrillers with buckets of suspicious neighbors, then this is for you. At the centre is the safety of a child, Kirstie Rawling’s six month old Daisy. When Kirsty hears strangers plotting to take a child over Daisy’s baby monitor it drives her into a panic. She becomes OCD locking all the doors and windows over and over. Her husband is at first supportive but then spends less and less time at home.
There are many suspects in Kirsty’s cul de sac neighbourhood and the author keeps you guessing about them. The stuffy headmaster and his aloof family, the talkative elderly neighbor with a mysterious cellar, the glamorous young couple and Kirsty’s bestie who always needs money. Are any of them responsible for the growing number of mishaps in Kirsty’s life? Then there is her husband - is he caring or is he shady?
This is great fun, keeping you guessing and giving lots of entertainment. It’s slower than the wonderful ‘Secret Mother’, but it’s definitely one of this author’s best so far.
