I recently restarted meditation after an absence of about twelve years IT'S NOT REALLY Yoga Meditation but rather a style started by Mahsai Sayadaw a Burmese Buddhist Monk it involves both sitting and walking. I have only used the Reehut Cushion Twice, on the second session after thirty minutes I finished refreshed, not exhausted and tired, I believe it is the filler of Buckwheat that makes the difference. Patrick Kearney in series of training sessions I recorded in 2005 said "you need to sit on a hard cushion" It's not Spiritually Kosher, just to find something from around the house, to sit on, you need a cushion designed for the purpose. "My CHI LEVELS WERE INCREASED FROM USING THIS CUSHION" IN Qigong you breath very deeply and exhale the same way to increase the CHI Levels. The cushion should not be used for any other purpose, other than meditation, "it's Just not Spiritually Kosher" treat the cushion with respect !
Before buying this pillow, I kept experiencing back pain whilst meditating. I read that raising the height of your seat can help with this. I decided to lash out and buy the Reehut meditation pillow and I'd never go back. I love it!!! AND it has really helped me to feel more comfortable during meditation, due to less lower back pain. It feels and looks to be a good quality product - so I am very happy!
This is my first Zafu/Meditation cushion. The buckwheat provides good stability, but is reasonably noisy if moving at all, but small issue. I get a numb leg when using the cushion, but it is more a structural issue with my body rather than the cushion itself. Even the small size (large one not available) seemed large enough and I'm 177cm and 90kg. Large would have been better, but it still works.
