I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
Let me state upfront that I really enjoyed this book but you know upfront that it’s a figurative car crash waiting to happen. And you just can’t look away…or in this case stop reading.
Walker Williams, infamous for not wanting the commitment of a relationship, embarks on a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement with Iris Avery. Their initial attraction soon leads to real feelings and a real relationship that they both enjoy.
With Iris, Walker has finally found someone who is stable enough for him to relax with. The troubles brought on by his drug-addicted sister are easier to cope with as long as Iris is with him.
Iris is ideal in bringing out a side of Walter that even his friends didn’t think he was capable of. She’s grounded, stable and she suits him. As for that figurative car crash? Well, Iris has been keeping secrets from Walter about who she really is. And when he finds out, the solid base he thought was their relationship soon fragments.
The journey that Walter and Iris make as a result of secrets being exposed gives us a lovely story about fear, compassion, forgiveness and love.
Great story of fighting hard to overcome addictions. Iris fought hard to get to where she is now. Then she meets Walker and falls hard, she tries to tell him her secrets many times but he says the past is the past. Walker didn't think he would ever fall for someone, then he met Iris. A great story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed. I volunteered for a arc of this book.
Loved this story of a woman battling demons and winning. Love the banter between the family at the tattoo parlour. Was sad when walker didn’t come through with his promise, but it showed we shouldn’t promise something without the details, and that we are all human. Loved the narration.
