An Entertaining and thought provoking read

A thoroughly intriguing read although at times the story moved slowly toward its conclusion I found it a consuming read. It is now well established that the early Christian Church did indeed have women in positions of authority and this would have clashed with both the Jewish and Roman concept of male domination that is only too evident in today's Catholic Church. Was it Paul who was the misogynist or was it later converts to Christianity who brought their conservative Jewish and Roman beliefs of female subordination with them and imposed those doctrines on the fledgling Christian Church despite the teachings of Jesus? What is certain is that I will be following this story with interest and look forward to the next book in the series.
