I couldn't wait to get hold of the second book after I read the first. The book is true to its title, Revelations. Trip and this reader become aware of what he truly is and is capable of at the same time. Trip is such a lovable character and a reluctant hero. The story gets more and more exciting as there are more dragons and adventures. Blazer's rag tag team embark on a mission to destroy the portal that was used by dragons to re-enter the human world. They meet a lot of interesting Cofah characters along the way. There is an undeniably growing attraction between Rysha and Trip but as Trip is considered odd mostly by himself, will their relationship flourish? I stayed up late to finish this book and immediately started on the third. Can't get enough of this new dragon series.
Another great follow-on entry. Fast paced action. Sentient and mouthy swords, dragons, explosives and airships. This series and it's predecessor is a mashup of steampunk and magical fantasy. My only quibble is that the magic system isn't explained. Although the lead character is a neophyte and is new to his magical abilities so we might get an explanation in future books. Speaking of characters, they are enjoyable and irreverent. The release schedule of this series is impressive. I'll be reading the next entry.
Things heat up in more ways than one as the teams race to reach the portal. The truth becomes clear as the drama unfolds and Trip must put aside his fears and use his powers to save the team , free some unexpected allies and complete the mission. Some answers are given as to who his father could be, which raises more questions and sets Trip on a whole new discovery. All the new characters are developing and adding their individual quirks to the mirth that runs continually throughout the story.
The only frustrating thing about this book is is that it finished. The characters are developing nicely, the story and world are both interesting and the writing fantastic. Gotta say, Buroker is on my list of favourite authors now.
