Once again Catherine Bybee has written a book that I could not put down. ‘Half Empty’ is the story of Trina Petrov, whose arranged marriage to Fedor Petrov ends when Fedor commits suicide. ‘Half Empty’ takes place one year after Fedor death.
The book starts with Trina in Venice, Italy, she has been traveling the world and is delaying returning home to meet the other First Wives. So instead of flying directly home she flies from Venice to Miami, and meets country superstar Wade Thomas in the hotel bar, where they share her bar food. Trina has no idea who Wade is at the time of their initial meeting, and Wade is surprised by that. Wade is just coming off of a tour and is also delaying going home... Despite the connection, life gets in the way...
Much is revealed about what really happened to Fedor and Trina's life and the lives of those around her are in jeopardy. I enjoyed every moment of this book, the surprise plot twists to all the bittersweet moments mixed in.
After meeting the ladies of the ‘“First Wives Club in Fool Me Once” (book 1), I was excited to dive into the second book and was not disappointed. Another fantastic story filled with romance, humour, and suspense. Even though this is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend this book!!
I just loved this book it was fantastic. The story was what you want in a thiller and the romance of course is a given in a Catherine Bybee book. It was good to have an endng of the mystery in this book instead of it being dragged into the remainder of this series. I can't wait to read the next book.
Catherine Bybee is one of my favourite authors. I love re-reading them. Just like all the others I have read, this one is a real page turner. The perfect amount of drama, romance and steamy scenes. Who needs to date when you can get all you need from books like this 😆
