Mark Never fails to capture my interest and propel me through his books. He needs to keep developing some of these characters and universes. What happened to the bus load of high school students? The guy who could absorb electricity? What's going to happen to Cam and Heather?
It's all about delivering a package. A difficult to kill monster. Unfortunately it escapes the spaceship to ravish Earth. Meanwhile super smart Cameron is stuck on the ship (with his trusty pickup truck) as it crashes 10lightyears away. There's a maniacal robot/cyborg to contend with. The monsters child to recapture, and natives to befriend. Then return back home, defeat the monster and save the girlfriend. Easy! Great read. Would love a sequel.
Very interesting read which does not labour your mind too much. Nice characters and enjoyable dialog. Story is interesting and moves along at a good pace . Well written, if slightly superficial plot, some aspects of the technology are fairly magical, but the way it is used was cute.
The lead character follows the truism of all good SiFi adventures. A young person thrown into an unimaginable situation somehow manages to not only survive all the deadly, exciting, and seemingly unbelievable adversity unleashed but thrives to become the space hero we will all enjoy in the books to come.
