My audible works perfectly

I kinda feel I'm the only one in Australia that the audible is actually working. For those who wants to know, I did create a US account and change my billing address to US address too (never been to the States but I have a MY US account where I get a free US address, more just for my online shopping). I also downloaded AUDIBLE on my andriod device. Step 1 - order and send to andriod. Step 2 - go to my contents on Amazon from my laptop, choose the audible book and send to my kindle. It worked perfectly.

Buyer beware - does not come with all features

This device sounds perfect - listen to audiobooks and read books - but the Audible feature is only available in the US. It does not work with Audible.com.au.
The only way to find this out is to call the support line because they do not tell you on the Amazon Australia website or app that they have stripped out this feature!
They said they don’t advertise the feature on the Australian website, but it’s still misleading because everything you read about it touts the Audible feature. Even the kindle user guide the comes on the kindle says it has the Audible feature but this is not true.
It’s also pretty clunky to use. But I could have overlooked that. However to pay this price and not get the features as they do in the US is a very poor customer experience.
I have now looked back through the Kindle Oasis reviews and found Amazon did the same thing there advertising Audible as a feature when it wasn’t available to us. There were lots of bad reviews, so why have they not taken on board the feedback and not misled consumers in Australia?
I bought this for my kids for Christmas. It would have been great if it was as advertised, by allowing them to get the benefit of technology without the downside and distraction of screen time.

New kindle with 32gb arrived and there was no Bluetooth capability. I rang the uk help line and was told initially it doesn’t come with Bluetooth. It was only after I was really persistent telling them all the marketing and reviews says it does that they checked and guess what... it does. So now the story is that the hardware is capable but not the software and it is a known issue and I hVe to wait a week for someone to get back to me about the next steps... and still no Bluetooth. Surely with such a recently released product amazon can easily identify who has purchased the 32gb options and fix the problem quickly. Or even communicate with us.

This kindle is great! As an amateur surgeon I often find myself flicking through medical books on my Kindle Paperwhite as I operate. The thin yet durable design allows the Kindle to be held upright, pinched safely between the ribs of my patients for easy viewing while the waterproof casing allows the kindle to continue functioning no matter how soaked it gets resting partially inside a person. The adjustable font settings also allow for easy reading, even while a patient is struggling or screaming. 10/10. Would recommend to any amateur surgeon.

My dears, I love the Kindle. I still have the original and it works beautifully. I figured it was about time I upgraded.
The Kindle itself had me really excited. It is smaller than my current and not compatible with my old case but it has 32 GBs of memory and the responsiveness is much, MUCH improved.
Unfortunately it was shipped with the wrong cable. I am honestly gobsmacked how that was managed because it's not like the proper cable is hard to get a hold of. It even looks like the right cable. But it doesn't fit in the charge port and I certainly hope I haven't damaged the port on my brand new product.
I'll be asking for a proper charge cable, but you lose major points when half of what you ship with your product is wrong. You lose more points when such an omission could mean users have to go out and buy a cable or have to wait for you to ship it.

Unfortunately my new Kindle Paperwhite was defective and I had to return it. Rather than wait on re-order I bought a replacement at JB Hifi. The replacement unit is fortunately working fine. The screen is nice and evenly lit, and I definitely prefer a flush screen with no bezel. I could do without it saying ‘Waking Up’ when it is, er, waking up...
Just a word of warning re the charging cable or port. Both Kindles had issues with this. I could not fit my usual Kindle cable (white cable from an older Kindle device) into the first defective Kindle at all, and I thought they must have changed the type of cable for the new device. The supplied black cable fit, but with a struggle as it was so tight. On the replacement Kindle from JB Hifi the supplied black cable wouldn’t fit at all; however, my old white cable did!
Not sure that the quality control is as good as it has been with previous Kindles.

Overall, I'm happy enough with the device, but am disappointed with the reliability of the page-turning. Very often, when I tap the screen to turn the page, nothing happens, so I tap again and it turns two pages at once, so I have to turn back again. It is annoying, for sure. I dearly wish I had not lost my older model.

I have just opened up my newly arrived Kindle - which is great, so far, compared to my original Keyboard Kindle. However, the charging cable did not fit, so i followed the emailed instructions on what to do if this is the case. A new replacement USB cable at no cost- great! Or maybe not!. If i want this replacement cable, then whilst i can get it for free, i have to pay for postage ($9.99) UNLESS i sign up for Primed membership (whch I can cancel later). NOT HAPPY that i have to sign my life away to get a charging cable that will work on my brand new device. So i dutifully signed up as I would have been very pissed off if I had to pay for postage for something that works that should have accompanied my original purchase. And now I am going around in circles trying to decipher the ins and out of my Prime membership. Do I actually get free reading and music in my free trial that will later cost $6.99 per month? or will I be charged $11.99 for music unlimted and $13.99 for kindle unlimited? It's a minefield out there folks and it's really not clear what your entitlements or costs are until you 'click to sign up' Come on Amazon - pull your finger out and simplify things for the consumer - like a lovely comparison table of the inclusions and benefits and costs. Because quite frankly, I am quite likely to just switch off and never use you at all!

While I like the waterproofing and more space, I was horrified to learn that the Australian version is crippled - no audio, no Audible. Amazon must hate Australians.
